Exploring Your Research Profile in Scopus and SciVal (Tauranga)

This hands-on session provides introduces Scopus and SciVal as tools for exploring and strengthening your research profile. Working within Scopus, you’ll view your author record, explore your research outputs, and interpret key indicators such as citations and other author metrics. The session will also demonstrate how SciVal can be used to explore research topics, examine impact measures such as Field-Weighted Citation Impact (FWCI), and identify potential collaboration opportunities.

Topics include:

  • Accessing and navigating Scopus
  • Exploring your author profile and viewing your research outputs
  • Checking and managing ORCID integration with Scopus
  • Understanding the reach of your publications and key author metrics
  • Moving into SciVal for topic and impact analysis
  • Discovering emerging research areas and collaboration opportunities
